DUGAR HEP

Dugar Hydroelectric Project is a run of the river scheme proposed along the river Chenab in Pangi valley, Himachal Pradesh. Chenab River enters Pangi valley of Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh near Bhujind and leaves the district at SansariNala to enter Paddar valley of Kashmir. The sources of runoff in the Chenab basin are both rain and snowmelt. Chenab is the sub-basin of Indus River System.
Dugar HE Project is a green field project and the project site lies between the Sachkhas HEP (267 MW) at its upstream (in Himachal Pradesh) and the Kirthai-I HEP (390 MW) at downstream (in UT of J&K).
Status:
MoU/Agreement:
- MOU signed on 25.09.2019 at Shimla with Govt. of Himachal Pradesh.
- NHPC signed Implementation Agreement with Govt. of Himachal Pradesh on dated 26.08.2022.
- Defence Clearance issued by MOD on 18.11.2020.
- CEA accorded the Concurrence to the project on 26.04.2022 at a completion cost of Rs. 4250.20 Crore with Levellised Tariff of Rs. 4.46/unit.
- Indus Water Treaty clearance accorded on 01.05.2023.
Environment Clearance:
Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC) vide MoM dated 06.09.22 recommended the project for accord of Environment Clearance subject to submission of Forest Clearance -I by the Developer.
Forest Clearance:
Forest Advisory Committee (FAC) in its meeting dated 21.08.2023 discussed the forest proposal of Dugar HE Project and made certain observations. MoM issued on 31.08.2023. The same is under process of compliance by State Government.
Investment Approval:
The PIB proposal seeking investment approval for implementation of the project shall be formulated & submitted after accord of EC, FC-I & FC-II.
