Established in May 1997 with a vision to tackle the chronic problems being faced by Power stations, identifying areas of research and development, benchmarking in construction methodologies/technologies, standardizing testing labs/workshops, process/efficiency improvement, Import substitution for critical and costly spare parts, silt management of reservoirs including use of space technology for sedimentation studies.
