NHPC observes 133rd birth anniversary of Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar

NHPC, India’s premier hydropower company organized a special programme to commemorate the 133rd birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar at its Corporate Office, Faridabad on 15th April, 2024. The programme began with paying of floral tributes to the statue of Dr. Ambedkar by Shri R.P. Goyal, CMD, NHPC alongwith Shri Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel), NHPC, Shri R.K. Chaudhary, Director (Technical & Projects), NHPC and executive members of NHPC SC/ST employees welfare association and NHPC OBC employees welfare association.  
 
In his address, Shri R.P. Goyal, CMD, NHPC highlighted the principles and achievements of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He defined Dr. Ambedkar as an outstanding world leader and champion of the masses and women empowerment. Shri Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel), NHPC said that Dr. Ambedkar was the architect of the Indian constitution and also highlighted his role in water and river navigation policy in India. In his address, Shri R.K. Chaudhary, Director (Technical & Projects), NHPC hailed Dr Ambedkar as a great scholar and social reformer.  He also said that Dr. Ambedkar played a great role in shaping of modern India. A short film showcasing the life and achievements of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was also screened on the occasion.
