NHPC, a Navratna enterprise of the Govt. of India has been conferred with CII HR Excellence Award for 2025-26 in acknowledgement to its “Significant Achievement in HR Excellence”. The Award was received by a team of NHPC officers lead by Shri R. T. Nathan, ED (HR) and Shri Anish Gouraha, ED-Salal Power Station during the 16th CII National HR Excellence Award Confluence 2025-26 held at Mumbai on 11.03.2026.
 
CII HR Excellence Award is Industry’s most coveted and prestigious HR Award which attaches great Value and recognition to HR processes and practices of NHPC. The Award signifies NHPC’s journey towards excellence in the areas of upskilling of its employees, ESG interventions, DE&I initiatives, Strategic HR Initiatives and practices, Digitization of HR Processes, Compassionate and Agile leadership, Employee Engagement processes, robust Corporate Governance strategies etc. establishing it as a trusted brand amongst all its stakeholders.
 
Shri Bhupender Gupta, CMD, NHPC appreciated the constant efforts put in by HR in pursuit of excellence. Cautioning from the prevailing highly volatile business models and practices, he exhorted NHPC HR professionals to focus upon continuous upskilling of employees and deriving inspirations from industry best HR practices to keep track with the transforming HR scenario.
 
Shri Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel), NHPC congratulated all employees for earning CII Award for the 2nd year in a row and importantly in an upgraded category from last year, signifying therein NHPC’s step ahead towards excellence. He emphasized the importance of analysing insights received from the Assessment process and called for continued, concerted efforts to further strengthen NHPC’s HR Processes and practices.
