NHPC hosts 49th Annual General Meeting
NHPC hosted its 49th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 30.08.2025, through video conferencing from its Registered Office, Faridabad. The members of the company inter-alia considered proposal for declaration of final dividend of Rs.0.51/- per equity share for the year 2024-25, which is in addition to the interim dividend of Rs.1.40/- per equity share paid in March 2025.Shri R.P. Goyal, CMD, NHPC addressed the shareholders at the AGM wherein members of NHPC Board including Shri Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel), Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director (Projects), Shri Suprakash Adhikari, Director (Technical), Shri Mohammad Afzal, Government Nominee Director and Independent Directors Shri Premkumar Goverthanan, Dr. Uday Sakharam Nirgudkar, Shri Jiji Joseph, Shri Anil Kumar Sood (through VC) and Company Secretary, NHPC Smt. Rupa Deb were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Goyal stated that despite numerous challenges, NHPC delivered a robust financial performance in 2024-25. The year has been a landmark in NHPC’s journey with several significant achievements, most notably the conferment of the prestigious Navratna status. This recognition enhances NHPC’s decision-making agility and opens new avenues for growth and market expansion. He further emphasized that the Company also celebrated its 50th Raising Day, marking the beginning of its Golden Jubilee Year, a reflection of NHPC’s rich legacy, remarkable achievements and unwavering commitment to India’s energy sector.
Shri Goyal highlighted key project milestones, including the completion of the 800 MW Parbati-II Hydro Electric Project in Himachal Pradesh, a testimony to NHPC’s engineering excellence. He also mentioned the commissioning of 214.28 MW capacity at the 300 MW Karnisar Solar Project in Rajasthan, underlining NHPC’s diversification into solar energy. Significant progress was also reported at the 2000 MW Subansiri Lower Project (Arunachal Pradesh/Assam), where final clearance from the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) is awaited for commissioning three 250 MW units shortly. He assured that various queries of shareholders’ regarding the Company’s performance were duly addressed during the AGM.
