NHPC celebrated India’s 79th Independence Day on 15.08.2025 with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm at NHPC Corporate Office, Faridabad. The celebrations began with the hoisting of National Flag by Shri R.P. Goyal, CMD & Director (Finance), NHPC and singing of the National Anthem. Shri Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel), Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director (Projects), Shri Suprakash Adhikari, Director (Technical), Shri Santosh Kumar, CVO, NHPC and other senior officers and employees of NHPC were present on the occasion along with their family members.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Shri R.P. Goyal, CMD & Director (Finance), NHPC extended his best wishes to the entire NHPC family on the occasion of Independence Day. He said that Independence Day is an occasion to remember all our brave freedom fighters who fought for the country’s freedom.  Shri Goyal highlighted NHPC’s achievements and shared key milestones including the commissioning of the 800 MW Parbati-II Hydroelectric Project, progress on the Subansiri Lower and Pakal Dul projects and record-breaking daily and monthly power generation. He also underlined NHPC’s expanding footprint in pumped storage, solar power and green hydrogen, aligning with the Government of India’s renewable energy targets. On this occasion, senior officers and employees of NHPC’s various regional offices, power stations, projects and units located across the country were connected to the ceremony through live webcast.
