NHPC and IIM Jammu Forge Strategic Alliance to Propel Leadership, Excellence and Capacity Building

NHPC Limited, India’s foremost Hydropower Company and a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, Government of India has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu, one of the country’s premier institutions of national importance. The MoU, formalized on 31.07.2025 at NHPC’s Corporate Office, Faridabad, heralds a new chapter in strategic academia-industry collaboration aimed at advancing leadership development, institutional learning and research-driven transformation.
 
The MoU was signed by Shri Rajeev R. Asthana, General Manager (HRD), NHPC and Cmdr. Kesavan Baskkaran (Retd.), Chief Administrative Officer, IIM Jammu in the esteemed presence of Shri Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel), NHPC; Prof. Rajesh Sikka, Co-Chairperson (Executive Education & Consultancy), IIM Jammu; Shri N.K. Jain, Executive Director (HR), NHPC and other senior officials.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel), NHPC, stated, “This MoU reflects NHPC’s focused strategy to institutionalize structured learning interventions, aligned with national priorities and global leadership paradigms. We are proud to collaborate with IIM Jammu in co-creating innovative leadership development pathways that will shape the next generation of public sector leaders.”

The scope of the collaboration spans a wide array of initiatives, including customized executive education programmes, sponsored research and joint case study development. The partnership will also foster knowledge exchange through conferences, thematic seminars, and industry-academia forums.
