National Hydroelectric Power Corporation is one of the largest organisation for hydro-power development in India having constructed 13 hydro-power projects in India and abroad with a total  installed capacity of 3694.35 MW (Including the projects under joint venture).  With an  asset value of Rs. 2,00,000 million NHPC has planned to add 2480 MW of power during Xth plan and 6297 MW of power during XIth plan.
